Was ist Sinn und Unsinn einer zweckfreien Beschäftigung? Welcher Nutzen und welche Gefahren?

I love games. Not just one kind of games but games in general. Whenever I gather some people at my place, I have some fancy cardgames or tabletops at the ready. Sometimes I take some blank cards or a set of dices (or both) and design my own individual games. My love for games is not restricted to that kind of gaming though.
Throughout the years I developed a great passion for PC-based games. I started out with real time strategy like ANNO 1602 and Age of Empires I. Somewhere along the way I picked up some car racing. Not so long ago I was introduced to CS at a LAN-Party with some old friends and somehow I hit upon the X-series.
The latest part of my gaming history began at the end of 2011 when I first joined an MMO, Need for Speed: World. It didn't take long till I turned to a different kind of game: World of Tanks. WoT still is my most favorite and most played game right now. That does not mean I stopped playing everything aside from WoT.
In fact I started several different games since then, but none of them can really compete with WoT. (League of Legends: ==> Didn't like that game; Age of Empires online: ==> quite ok, but I miss the brilliancy of it's predecessors; World of Warplanes: ==> brilliant, but none of my friends really wants to play this with me --> I stick with WoT; Dota 2: ==> Far better than LoL, but still that kind of game is not what I really like.
